blessed are the blind

June 20, 2007

it has often been said that one ought to look before one is to leap. would this not more often turn one away from the edge of greatness by revealing the hardshipsone will face? the great men have ever blinded themselves and in so doing have attained their greatness.

the phrase ‘separation of church and state’ carries the connotation of ‘separation of the church from the state’. in all actuality, the phrase would be better rendered connotatively as ‘separation of the state from the church’. the denotation would then be formed as ‘separation of state and church’.

‘tolerant’ love

June 14, 2007

the theology of tolerance has destroyed the intolerance of theology. to love is not to be tolerant, but rather to be intolerant. this does not mean that love is ironclad and unforgiving. ‘love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. it does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. love never ends.’

it depends. all things are subjective (that is, all things of this present subset). an ‘if-then’ state presently holds sway over all actions. the effects follow from the causes. these two divisions are not mutually exclusive, though. causes were previously effects, and effects will themselves become causes. does this imply that time is cyclical? no, in that there was a first cause, and there will be a final effect. these are essentially the same in that they originate from the same source.

resilient femininity

June 13, 2007

one of the worst things for a female to do is act tough. a male sees this as a challenge to his ‘manliness’ and will react in a manner to show his superiority or dominance. contemporary feminism has contributed more to rape and abuse than any other movement in telling women to act masculine. it is not masculinity that appeals to the masculine, but rather that which is weak (in the sense of having a need to be protected, cared for, and nurtured). resiliency is an admirable feminine trait – stand up to that which attempts to violate your convictions, but do not stand up against them who wish to stand for.
